Are Rituals Required? - 9nov21

When we put aside

the superstition of patriarchy and fundamentalism

we see there is absolutely NO need

for any ritualism.

Perhaps that is why,

in the thirty-eighth chapter of the Tao Te Ching,

we read

“…when morality is lost

there is ritual.

Ritual is the (mere) husk of true faith,

the beginning of chaos.

Therefore the Master

concerns himself

with the depths and NOT the surface,

with the fruit and NOT the flower.”

The path is three-fold, my friend.

Read the Tao Te Ching daily,

understand it,

and apply it.

If that is all you do,

then that is most certainly enough

and in a remarkably short period of time

you could be a sage of the way.

Let us conclude

with a simple

call to action

In the Tibetan tradition Lamas are supported

not by monasteries but by students

as such the production of these livestreams,

blogs, and class materials is supported

by the generosity of viewers, and listeners, and readers

just like you.
