our preconceptions,
no matter how dearly they are cherished.
Rigidity is antithetical
to this vulnerability
and is integral to the defense
of our most cherished
hatreds and cravings.
Who can forget the Emperor,

unctuously encouraging Luke Skywalker
with the now famous words,
“Yes, let your hate flow!”
I wonder,
what would he say
about our denial?
