Our Fear of Abandonment - 23sep21b

We are born soft, and weak, and helpless.

It is little wonder that we’re also born

with a drive to cling as tightly and as desperately

as if our life depended upon it,

for it most certainly did.

It therefore comes as no surprise

that the secret fear, hidden within each heart,

is the dread of abandonment:

be it parental, tribal, or romantic.

Take solace, my friend,

that the right partner will find it impossible

to grow weary, no less bored of you.

Like Darth Vader who whispered “Padme”

the moment, behind his mask, he was first sealed.

Let us conclude

with a simple

call to action

In the Tibetan tradition Lamas are supported

not by monasteries but by students

as such the production of these livestreams,

blogs, and class materials is supported

by the generosity of viewers, and listeners, and readers

just like you.
